IT Patch Management Specialist
Job Title: Patch Implementor / Management
Location: Onsite – Miami preferred (open to Juno Beach)

Job Overview:
Our client, a leading Fortune 500 energy company, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Patch Implementor to support their IT infrastructure team. This role is focused on ensuring timely and secure patching across Microsoft and RedHat environments to maintain compliance and mitigate vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with enterprise-level patch management tools and thrives in regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Patch & Package Management:
Create and manage deployment packages for Microsoft and RedHat operating systems, including workstations, servers, and virtual desktops.Patch Deployment:
Deploy authorized patches using tools such as BigFix, Tanium, SCCM, or WSUS. Customize deployment actions based on asset requirements (e.g., reboots, notifications, pre-deployment steps).Monitoring & Risk Mitigation:
Proactively monitor systems for vulnerabilities and ensure timely application of security patches.Testing & Quality Assurance:
Conduct thorough testing of patches in a controlled environment prior to deployment to ensure stability and compatibility.Documentation:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all patch activities, including impacted systems, applied versions, and any installation issues.Process Improvement:
Identify inefficiencies in patching workflows, suggest automation opportunities, and contribute to process enhancements.Compliance & Security:
Ensure all patching operations meet internal security standards and external regulatory requirements.Troubleshooting & Support:
Quickly diagnose and resolve issues that arise during or after patch deployments, minimizing impact to business operations.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure coordinated patching efforts.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of hands-on experience in patch management or IT operations
Proficient in managing patches for Windows and Linux systems
Experience with tools such as BigFix, Tanium, WSUS, or SCCM
Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Effective at managing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting IT operations in a large enterprise environment
Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent
Familiarity with patch automation scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
