Principal Technical Systems Administrator

We are seeking a Principal Technical Systems Administrator with extensive experience in Microsoft Windows, RedHat Linux, and various virtualization technologies. The ideal candidate will exhibit high proficiency across multiple platforms, providing advanced support and management of Windows, Linux, and extensive virtualization environments. This role demands an expert capable of overseeing complex systems, ensuring seamless integration, stability, and peak performance.
Windows Administration:
  • Expert-level familiarity of Windows Server environments, including sophisticated installation, configuration, and maintenance tasks.
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerShell for complex scripting tasks and automation.
  • In-depth knowledge of DNS setup, configuration, and management.
Proficiency in Active Directory for advanced user/domain management and group policies.
Virtualization & Cloud Technologies:
  • High proficiency in VMware suite, including ESXi, vCenter, Horizon and VDIs.
  • Advanced experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and management.
  • Expertise in SAN storage solutions and their integration within various infrastructures.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise environments and integrations.
General IT Skills:
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, security measures, and deep knowledge of routing and switching.
  • Expertise in designing, implementing, and managing backup solutions and comprehensive disaster recovery plans.
  • Advanced familiarity with ITIL practices for superior IT service management.
 
Job Overview:
This position involves the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computing infrastructure, operating systems, and middleware products on all computer platforms, including mainframes, workstations, and servers - including web servers - in support of 24-hour-per-day, seven-day-per-week business processes.
 
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • System Optimization:
    • Evaluates, implements, and modifies operating system software parameters and product solutions for optimum performance.
    • Identifies integration and other interface requirements for all supported products and platforms.
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Serves as a technical escalation point for technicians and customers, providing expert guidance.
    • Troubleshoots complex hardware, system, and application issues, employing advanced diagnostic tools and methodologies.
  • Strategic Initiatives:
    • Contributes to business process engineering efforts, enhancing operational efficiency.
